Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will now slice and dice a bit earlier in some regions

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP‘s new release date is “sweeter than candy on a stick,” because it has moved up a few weeks for North American, South American, and European countries. The action game is now heading to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 12, per Gematsu, instead of the 25th.

Japan and other Asian countries will have to wait until the original launch date. When the game launches earlier than expected in Western territories, however, it will be priced at $44.99. Though no reasoning was given, it is possible that Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is avoiding a conflict against the highly anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which launches on September 26.

Additionally, the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster launches a week earlier than that on September 18. It’s strange how two remakes of comedic zombie-genre games are releasing so close to each other. On the week of September 12, there isn’t much competition for the remake other than Funko Fusion, which has received a tepid response online.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP will be adding a new “distinct pop art style for damage effects” and support for 4K at 60 frames per second (Switch excluded), according to the official website. It will also feature a faster attack speed, an improved camera, and quicker movement to enhance the game.

Many gamers find quick-time events annoying, so Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP automatically sets them to activate rather than having to manually input them. It’s a blessing we’ve moved past that mechanic in gaming nowadays. Additionally, the difficult mini-game Zombie Baseball has been rebalanced to make it easier.

You’ll be able to re-experience the absurdity of Lollipop Chainsaw when its RePOP version digitally launches for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch on September 12 in the aforementioned regions. The game will be getting a physical release through Limited Run Games as well, which you can pre-order until August 25.
